Hey Besties! If you’ve been there before, you may know that we love creating sweet greetings with cookie cards! And do you know what is arguably the top card-giving holiday? That’s right, Valentine’s Day! Which is why I’m super excited to be able to share these fun Valentine’s Day cookie cards! If these are new to you, keep reading to learn how cookie cards can be a simple and unique offering for your bakery or family and friends! And to keep this really fun, I’m releasing 7 days of designs! Each day for the next week, an additional, new cookie card will be available for you here! Let the fun begin!
What Are Cookie Cards?!
A cookie card is like a greeting card but with a cookie attached! You may have noticed that regular greeting cards have become really expensive so more and more people are shying away from them. But attach a cookie to a card, for a smaller price than a plain greeting card, and both givers and receivers LOVE them! I mean who doesn’t want to receive a cute card with a custom cookie?! A sweet greeting and a thoughtful gift rolled into one!
And for the bakery biz besties, cookie cards can be a sweet, little gold mine! Depending on your skill level, market and clientele, most cookiers sell their full-sized cookie cards for between $4-$7 each. And we have besties that sell hundreds of these for each holiday! It’s yet another great way to set yourself apart from what others are offering. I talk more about how to promote the cookie card business offering in THIS post if that’s something that you’d like to explore.
Beyond the big card-giving holidays, cookie cards are also excellent for classroom celebrations, staff recognition, customer appreciation, wedding favors, and other large gatherings. It doesn’t always make good business sense to sell individual cookie cards, but by marketing to these kinds of events, is definitely great business!
FAQs for Cookie Cards
There are a few questions that are commonly asked so I’ll answer those here.
- What kind of paper do you use for your cookie cards? We print on card stock (110 weight) so the cards are sturdier. There are endless paper options out there to choose from. It’s totally up to you and the look and feel you want!
- Where do you print your cookie cards? We print our cookie cards at home! But some choose to have them printed off at stores like Staples or any local printer.
- How do you attach your cookies to the cards? We always individually heat seal our cookies (or you can use a self-sealing bag). Then they get attached to the card using double-sided tape or glue dots.
- What size cookie cards are best? The designs I’m sharing are all 5×7 cards, which we prefer for full-sized cookies. Sometimes we use 4×6 but it can start to limit the card design unless you’re going to use mini-sized cookies
- Where is the best place to get cookie cards? In addition to the ones available here, I always share cookie cards for a number of different occasions in my weekly newsletter. Feel free to subscribe near the bottom of this post if you don’t already receive it! But there are also a lot of great cookie cards options on Etsy! I’ll share a few of my favorite cookie card shops here as well.
