How To Make Sweet Greetings with Cookie Cards

Hey Besties! Today we are talking about a sweet opportunity to incorporate cookie cards into your bakery biz or hobby! Cookie cards have become really popular in the last few years but are still new to many people. I regularly still hear or see people, including bakers, ask “what are cookie cards?” Bestie, if you are not offering these in your business, you are missing out! And because I am all about helping you build a successful home bakery, or enhance your baking hobby, we are focusing on cookie cards today! Get ready for some sweet smiles because these always delight both givers and receivers!

What Is A Cookie Card?

Cookie cards are cute, designed cards that can be printed from home or at a local printing store, such as Staples. You can design your own, use ours or purchase designs online. I’ll share some of my favorite shops later on this post. They are usually 4×6 in size but can also be larger to accommodate larger cookies. Cookiers then create complementary cookie designs to be attached to the cookie card. Most cookiers, including us, heat seal their cookie and then attach to the card with double sided tape. Voila! You have an adorable greeting card and small gift all in one!

You know how you can buy a greeting card at Target for $5 and get nothing but a card?! Yeah, this mom isn’t paying $5 for just a card and many other people aren’t either! But for the same price, or even less, cookie cards offer a sweet message and a sweet treat! How many times have you seen a kid open a card for 0.2 seconds, see that it’s empty and toss it aside? Well, that was a waste of money! I can assure you if there is a cookie attached to that card, they will not toss it aside and it will definitely bring a smile!

Best Uses for Cookie Cards

Now are cookie cards made for sending via snail mail? Not so much. But they are perfect for local gift giving, classroom celebrations, wedding favors, holiday parties, staff recognition, customer appreciation, and so much more!

In fact, they can be a great marketing tool for businesses as well. When a company gives out a cookie card to an employee, customer or client, that goes a long way. They are sure to remember the gesture and may even post a photo of it on social media.

A Cookie Card Business Model

So how do you start offering cookie cards as a part of your home bakery? Create samples and start promoting! Design, buy or download our free cookie cards to start a collection of card offerings. Create cookies, take photos and let your customers know this is a new service you offer! And these aren’t limited to decorated cookies! Gourmet cookies and other treats, even cake pops, work just as well! You can offer seasonal designs and also keep general card designs in stock such as for birthdays, thank yous, etc. You can even have the cookies made and frozen to be ready for customers on short notice. And of course, you can offer custom cookie card services. Customer wants 200 custom cookie cards for wedding favors? They’ll know who to go to!

As a baker, you do a lot more than just design and make beautiful and delicious treats. You have an opportunity to show people how they can use your products to spread joy in their communities! Show people how you can make their next gift giving, recognition or appreciation opportunity even more special. It’s a WIN for them and a WIN for you!
