Wish List To Improve Our Cookies!
I know this community and we always put our cookies first! These are items that will improve your cookies, elevate your skills, expand your design options, make decorating easier and increase your efficiency!
Dehydrator for Cookie Decorating
Besties, Let’s start with the request I receive most often – a dehydrator for cookie decorating! I can’t stress enough how amazing a dehydrator is for cookie decorating. It’s the simplest way to immediately improve the overall look of your royal icing. While also saving you a ton of time. It’s a game changer and I don’t throw that term around lightly. For all the details on using a dehydrator for cookie decorating, THIS post explains it all. Here are three dehydrators I recommend if you’re not already using one!
Very popular among cookie decorators is this 7-tray Cosori! With trays measuring 13 x 12″, this beast will hold 10-12 full-size cookies per tray! If you decorate large volumes of cookies, this is a top pick!
Another dehydrator that many cookiers love, also 7-trays! The Magic Mill! Trays measure roughly 10 x 11″ in size, so you can expect to easily have 9 full-size cookies per tray in this workhorse!
And for those who want something smaller, for hobby baking, this cute Septree model will become your new pal. A favorite among besties with bonus points for being cute in your decorating space! Trays are 8×10″ in size, so you can expect to get up to 6 full-size cookies per tray!
Cookie Projector
Which brings us to the next most commonly asked about item – projectors! If you are not using a projector, you are missing out on the simplest way to create amazing designs! I remember being SO limited in my designs until I purchased my little Bestie right HERE! It opens up a world of design options and there’s many reasons it’s the most popular projector among cookiers. For all the details, THIS whole post will get you up to speed!
Cookie Projector Mounts
If you get a projector, you’re going to need a mount! In THIS post I go in-depth on two different mounts I have and love. Completely different price points and setups, but I LOVE them both for different reasons. I also show you exactly how to set them up too for easy working!
If you want the workhorse that can do it all and will last for years, THIS mount really is the gold standard.
However, if you just need a simple mount, or if you’re like me and need a 2nd mount, THIS baby is worth every penny! I use this stand with my projector every day, have for years and if it works for me, it’ll work for you too.
Airbrushing Beautiful Cookies
I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t use my airbrush every day. However, I also couldn’t live without out in my cookie decorating arsenal. I LOVE the designs I can make with my airbrush, especially when it comes to stenciling. Or if you’re really looking to add more dimension to your cookies, an airbrush really is a great way to achieve that.
Along with many other cookiers, we have, use and love THIS model. It’s such a reasonable price compared to many others out there and has worked perfectly for us every time!
And if you are going to use an airbrush, you should DEFINITELY use a screen to ensure you get clean, crisp lines and designs! THIS is the screen I, as well as many other cookiers, love!
If you want a great starter set of popular stencil backgrounds for airbrushing, THIS set is one I highly recommend for a great bundle price! They have several different bundles of designs too for far cheaper than buying them individually!
The Best Stencil Holder
I’ve shared THIS post, which includes a demo video to illustrate why THIS stencil holder is worth its weight in gold. If you do any stenciling, either by scraping royal icing or airbrushing, you need this stencil holder in your life. You’ll thank me later, I promise.
Edible Accents
These petal dust palettes have been all the craze this year! Want to add some dimension to your cookies without busting out the airbrush? You’ll love these!! Buildable color, like eyeshadow! I have THIS 2-palette set for the best value.
- Palette Dust Set 48/Pkg
Or if you only want one palette, I’d recommend going with THIS one!
- Petal Dust Set B 24/Pkg
Besties have also fallen in love with THESE metallic edible markers in a full range of color! Dual-tipped and offer all the sparkle in a rainbow of colors!
Heat Sealing
I can’t image life without my heat sealer! If you want to ensure your cookies are as fresh as possible, professional looking and also freeze them without any risk, heat sealing is the best way to go! THIS post includes everything you need to know about heat sealing cookies, including demo video.
THIS is the heat sealer I use every day!
The ONLY bags I use for our cookies! Available in a variety of sizes! I always have 4×6 and 5×7 sizes in stock for our cookies.
Thermal Printer for Labeling
The most economical and fastest way to print all your labels! Ingredient labels, logo labels, thank you labels, flavor labels and more – your designs are limitless! And all can be printed in seconds with THIS thermal printer! See an in-depth blog post all about thermal printing, including demo video, HERE!
And you’ll definitely want THIS space saving label holder so your labels can print in seconds! Nothing better than watching those labels spin through the printer!
And for the labels we love, use and recommend, you can see my favorites HERE!
Convenient Cooling Anyone?
If there’s one thing more cookiers can always use more of, it’s space! Which is why so many Besties love THIS cooling rack to go vertical! It collapses for easy storage but is your true bestie when working with so many cookies!
This section Is All About You!
Alright Besties, we all know cookie decorating is HARD work. Who would’ve thought?! But seriously, it can really take a toll, especially if you produce large volumes! And while we specialize in bringing joy to others, it really is important to take care of yourself. We all deserve to take care of our bodies and also pay attention to our comfort while we work! So, I hope you make yourself a priority this season and include some of these items on your list!
Decorating Comfortably
I know you spend a ridiculous amount of time standing at your counter mixing colors, because I do the same. Please, I beg of you, save your feet, knees, hips and back with some anti-fatigue mats. Not only are they comfy, but they actually will help you avoid real painful issues.
Guuuuurl, if you’re not wearing a pair of supportive slippers or house shoes, you are asking for problems! Do you know that my bare feet only touch the inside of my shower? That is it. Otherwise, I have supportive slippers on to save my feet. If you like cozy feet, THESE are perfection and stylish! Or if you’re like me and your feet get hot easily, THESE babies are like walking on clouds! Are they funky looking? Yes ma’am! Do I care? Nope! It is not a fashion show up in here and at a certain age, comfort trumps style.

Alright Bestie, we spend A LOT of time sitting and I hear from many of you about aching backs, so let’s address it! THIS set can make a world of difference! Read the raving review and your body will thank you later. Don’t let aches and pains stop you from doing what you love!
Decorating Entertainment
A few months ago, we had a lengthy thread going in our Facebook group about what you all listen to while you’re decorating! I never could’ve imaged the amount of Besties listing to true crime! In my case, I almost always have music blaring and could never live without my AirPod Pros. Seriously, I couldn’t imagine not having these to listen to or chat on the phone with!
And for our Bestie booklovers, you can’t go wrong with an Audible subscription! As much as I LOVE reading actual books, my schedule just isn’t allowing for it as much as it used to. So I’m thankful for Audible to be able to stay on top of my reading while decorating!
Cookie Decorator Self Care
Let’s talk about feet again really quick because I’m SO excited to share with you THESE that have transformed my heels! Bestie, all you have to do is sleep with these cute, colorful, fuzzy little gems and you’ll have soft, supple heels! I’d share a pic of my heels but, well, this is a baking site after all, so I’ll refrain. But I have bought these for all my friends and family members! And don’t just take my word for it, read the reviews!!
I know you wash your hands 100 times a day, because I do the same. I started using THIS every night before bed and it has transformed my hands! But then the girly in me loves THIS for a touch of luxury. One is on my nightstand and the other is in my purse…you have one guess which one is which.
Want to smell as good as one of your cookies while enjoying a luxurious skin experience? THIS made our gift guide list again this year because it’s that good! It smells amazing and keeps my skin feeling like I live somewhere other than the frozen tundra, of Minnesota.
Hand massage, anyone? I’ll admit, some days I can feel it in my hands after a long day of decorating! With rave reviews, THIS baby is practically made for cookiers!
Want to massage away those aches and pains from your neck, back, head or anywhere else? And how about doing it where it’s convenient for you! Yes, please! THIS magician has racked up thousands of rave reviews, and I love that you can use it anywhere!
The Pretty Things We Want But Never Buy Ourselves
This is where our cookie decorator gift guide gets really fun because we’re throwing practicality out of the window and indulging! I know this community and while we LOVE pretty and luxurious things, we don’t splurge on them for ourselves! Well Bestie, it’s time. We deserve it.
I will forever love THIS cake stand! I’ve had it for years and use it to display everything from cookies, to cakes, to breads. You simply can’t go wrong with a classy, glass cake stand! It’s also a great housewarming gift, especially if you gift it with something yummy and pretty inside!
Bestie, if you know me, I live for multi-purpose things! One thing I can use several different ways? I’m in! I love THIS acacia wood cake stand/dessert display/charcuterie board! Only one thing I have to store but I can use beautifully in so many ways!
Functional and beautiful?! That’s what I’m all about! THIS beauty checks both of the boxes.
These sparkly cookie turntables are brought to you by the same company that makes the best stencil holder. THIS shop definitely has some of the best cookier tools. If you want a great cookie turntable, I’d definitely check these out!
If you’ve been here before, you’ll probably know I’m a HUGE sap when it comes to family and heirlooms. Which is why I fell in LOVE with THIS! The idea of having one of your signature recipes engraved into this beautiful piece of wood in your own handwriting is simply stunning! I immediately fell in love! You can completely customize with drawings, photos, anything!
And to round out our wish list of things we WANT but don’t really NEED, is THIS! When I saw this, it was an immediate add to cart for me. It made me smile and it’s a fun way to tie in my decor with what we do! I hope you think it’s cute too!
