Hey Besties! Today I’m sharing 10 of my favorite cookie decorating fonts that upgrade your cookies from “Meh” to “WOW”! Now I will be the first to admit, writing on cookies is not my top strength! Not even a top 20 strength! 😆 But, with a lot of practice and the help of my projector, my writing has improved and truly transforms a set of cookies. Kind of like when you first start decorating, you improve with every batch, I’ve found I learn and improve every time I do writing on my cookies!
A Word About Writing With Royal Icing
There are some bakers that just have the gift of immaculate writing and I love to admire their work! SugarGal Cookies is a decorator that has insanely beautiful writing every time; it’s a gift and developed talent. If you are not naturally gifted with this talent, I’ve found that your royal icing consistency is usually the biggest challenge. I usually have a thicker consistency icing and a slightly looser consistency for flooding larger sections of letters. In the beginning, it helps to make a few different consistencies and have them at the ready to practice. Speaking of practice, in the beginning, I almost always practiced on a sheet of parchment paper before working on my cookies.
I can also say that for me, writing on cookies would not be possible without my projector. And this is a sentiment shared by MANY cookiers! For more about the projector I use which also happens to be the most popular amongst cookiers, read THIS post. Or, if you’d simply like to see my favorite, click HERE.
Onto The Cookie Decorating Fonts
These 10 fonts are my most-used fonts and they add so much personality to cookies! Over time, cookiers develop a list of their go-to fonts and these are some, not all, of mine! ALL of the fonts I’m sharing are available on Dafont.com and I’ve linked directly to each font below.
In our first photo, the top font is Lovely Unicorn and the bottom is Lemon Tea.
In our second photo, the top font is Hey Magnolia and the bottom is KG Shake It Off.
In our third photo, the top font is Sunny Cloudy and the bottom is Kudofun.
In our fourth photo, the top font is Strawberry Cheesecake and the bottom is Pinky Promise.
In our fifth photo, the top font is Adelia and the bottom is Keep on Truckin FW.
As you can see, I used the word LOVE to illustrate the different fonts, but you really should visit the Dafont and type in other phrase or word examples to see more of the font characters. Some of these have really fun characters and numbers too! It all depends on your cookie style and personality to find the perfect font. But I highly recommend trying these cookie decorating fonts!
If you have a favorite font, leave a comment below or share in our Facebook group! I’m always looking for new favorites!!
