Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning I get a commission if you decide to make a purchase through my links, at no cost to you. I only recommend products I use myself or stand behind and would recommend to my besties!

Hey Besties! You may, or may not, already know that I LOVE my Munbyn thermal printer for all my labeling needs. Seriously, I literally say, “Man, I love this thing!” every time I use it. Which is why I was super excited when I got my hands on this new Munbyn printer for bakery labels! Don’t get me wrong, my older version is still amazing, but Munbyn basically improved a few of the things they could do better and now it’s perfect! So I’m super excited to share all the improvements with you today, including demo video. If you want the most convenient and most cost-effective way to create all your bakery labels, read on!

The Munbyn people know how much I loved my previous model that they were kind enough to send me their newest model so I could share it with you. And because I only ever recommend products I use, love and stand behind, I jumped at this opportunity. And to top it all off, I have an exclusive coupon code to share with my Besties for even greater savings, which I’ll share later in this post.

Cottage Bakery Labeling

Okay Besties, let’s start at the beginning! I get A LOT of questions regarding the best way to create and print labels efficiently and for the best value. If you’re a cottage baker, labeling is a big part of our business! But we’re also wearing 25 other hats so I’m also all about creating my labels quickly, easily, cheaply and so they look the best!

Honestly, it’s not uncommon for bakers to have multiple labels – logos, ingredients, flavors, QR codes, etc. And because I’m super picky about my packaging and how my baked goods look for that first impression, labeling is super important to me. Labeling can make or break that professional appearance for your bakery, so take the time to get it right.

I also love to use labeling as a way to bring character and personalization to my orders. I love creating new labels all the time and personally could never rely on ordering labels to arrive from someone. The cost and time would be crippling to me and my business. Thankfully, I never have to worry about that thanks to my Munbyn printer for bakery labels.

Thermal Printing 101

Thermal printers started gaining popularity a few years ago, for good reason! The biggest reason? Thermal printers don’t require any ink. You read that right, the magical thermal printing process does not require any ink, so the only cost associated with using a thermal printer, is the labels. For those of us who LOATHE buying ink, this is a game changer.

The other amazing benefit is that you can print labels incredibly fast! You can print labels in a matter of seconds, seriously. This is what I need in my life!

Bakery owners love thermal printers for how convenient and quick they are to use. But let’s also talk cost. When using a thermal printer, your only ongoing cost is the labels. If you’re using simple white labels, you can be printing those for 1-2 cents per label. Or if you’re like me and like fun labels in different shapes, colors and finishes, they cost about 5 cents on average per label. Bestie, that price is incredibly hard to beat and coupled with the convenience and quality, it’s a no-brainer for your bakery.

Label Designing

You can print ANY label design using a Munbyn printer, it does not need to be created with their app. In fact, I design almost all of my labels on Canva on my computer. I personally prefer the real estate of a big screen when doing any graphic design work. But for quick updates or tweaks, the Canva app works great for that. And of course, you can design all your labels within the Munbyn app if you prefer. Or print a label you can import from anywhere!

I always include free label designs in my weekly newsletters that you are welcome to use to dress up your packaging!

New Features I’m loving

There are several improvements with this new model that have my dancing in the kitchen. First, the label loading is perfection, Upon loading my labels, it automatically detects and positions them so no labels are wasted and no adjustments necessary. Love it. It also has improved resolution for clearer printing. I love this, especially for small QR codes which are now easily read consistently.

This new model is also quieter and prints transparent labels beautifully! Transparent labels have become really popular, but they were something previous models struggled with a bit. Not any longer!

And the improved feature I love most? My label designs are automatically perfectly centered without ever needing any manual adjustments or offsets. My former model often required me to adjust the printing offsets to ensure my designs were perfectly centered. Not a huge deal, but now that it prints perfectly automatically, it’s perfection!

All of this means I save even more time and have even prettier labels and packaging. This combination makes for one happy Bestie!

I just put in my order and the Promo code isn’t working. Not sure why but I tried it a couple of times with no luck. Thanks for the great info!

I just checked and the promo code appears to be working fine. Are you adding it during checkout in the promo code field?

I am having the same issue. It tells me the code cannot be added to the order.

Hmmm…many people have used it successfully and it is still a valid code, so I’m not sure why you’re experiencing that. Here is a different 10% code you can try during checkout: 403BAKING

Not sure if your baking soda is still good? Add a teaspoon of baking soda to 1/2 cup hot water. If it bubbles, it's still good!
