Hey Besties! If you’ve already seen THESE easy St Patrick’s Day cookies, which utilize more traditional icing techniques, I’m excited to offer a fun twist today! Or if you haven’t mastered (or are just bored of) outlining and flooding, this is completely different! We always have to be thinking of new and creative techniques and ways to play with our icing!
For these cookies, I used a stiff consistency icing that would hold its shape and then an offset spatula, like THIS. Simply use a tipless bag or a large round tip to apply icing and use the spatula to create the effect.

I hope this provides some fun inspiration for you to try something new! There truly are endless options when you get creative!
When you’ve mastered some skills, I challenge you to keep growing, tackling new skills. Consider more advanced piping, stenciling, sketching, lettering, airbrushing, lace, details with edible markers and so much more. But also keep in mind that your cookies don’t have to be complicated; find your own style and what you enjoy doing most. If there is a particular skill or technique that you’re exceptionally good at and enjoy, build your sets around it! This will quickly become what you’re known for in your community or family and will keep people coming back for more!
