Hey Besties! Hoodie season is upon us again! But let’s be real…does it ever really go away? If you’re anything like me, you enjoy a comfy hoodie year-round. But there is something about the idea of cooling temps, crisp air, heading into the holiday season…it gives me warm fuzzies. So, today’s post is dedicated to these super cute fall cookie designs! These were super fun to make, and it gave me a chance to utilize a couple fun texturing techniques, which you’ll see too. I hope you love these as much as I do; let’s jump in!
Recipes
You know the drill…we need a delicious canvas. And because these were for a fall set, it felt appropriate to use our caramel cutout cookie recipe, which you can find HERE. I can never get enough of these, they are SO yummy. Note that we do have separate recipes for our caramel cookies and salted caramel cookies. Just a couple tweaks differentiate these recipes but there is a pretty big difference in flavor. On that note, keep in mind that you always have access to all of our fun flavor recipes, HERE. Especially heading into fall, there are SO many fantastic, cozy flavored recipes to choose from!
For our royal icing, we stayed with vanilla which pairs deliciously with these caramel cookies. Could you flavor the royal icing caramel? You sure could! But my preference is the caramel-vanilla pairing and letting the cookie flavor really shine through. You’ve got options! If you need a royal icing recipe or want to learn exactly how we may our icing every day, you’ll find it all HERE.
Cutters For Fall Cookie Designs
I have to admit, this set of cookies has some really cute cutters. And if you’ve been here before, you know I only buy cutters that I know I’ll use over and over again. I’ve got a lot of design options with these so I’m happy I added these to my collection.

Hoodie cutter: I’m so excited to make more hoodie cookies with all kinds of sayings and designs on them! From one of our go-to cutter shops, Kalediacuts!
Boots cutter: From the same shop as the hoodie cutter and just as cute. I’m excited to make all kinds of winter boot styles with this one!
Jeans cutter: Not gonna lie, I searched for the perfect jeans/pants cookie cutter for a while and this one is perfect! Many of the other pants cookie cutters I found were just far too rectangle. I knew we needed some curves here!
Designs
I used all ChefMaster colors for this set, which is usually always the case. A really helpful tool that I sometimes reference when making my colors is THIS mixing chart. It gives you simple formulas for shades and hues which don’t always seem intuitive. This mixing chart has helped me make some amazing fall colors in years past!
My inspiration was really just imagining a comfy, cozy outfit from my past. And while I could describe exactly how I decorated these; a video would be much more effective! So, I made a video for you, from start-to-finish of decorating these three fun designs. You can watch the video HERE!
Note the texturizing on the boots and the distressing on the jeans which I think adds some great character to these cookies! These are both simple techniques using decorating brushes. And because I know cookiers will ask, THIS is a brush set I have and recommend!

Falling In Love With Fall
I love summer, but these fall cookies designs have me ready to embrace cooler temps! And that’s saying a lot for a Minnesotan. But I hope these inspire you to create your own fun fall cookies and maybe try some of the texturing techniques I shared today. I encourage you to try the stippling effect I added to the boots here once the base flood was dry! Isn’t that cute? And super simple!
