When Life Gives You Lemons, You’ll Love These Resealable Cookie Bags!

Hey Besties! I’m so excited to share this fun option that we offer in our bakery that you may love too! The vast majority of our bakery business is custom orders but sometimes people just want cookies! And we all know custom cookies are a luxury, with a price tag. So how do you serve your customers who want to get their hands on your cookies without the custom order? These resealable cookie bags are a perfect solution! They are super cute, quick and easy for you to make, which makes them really affordable to offer. And design ideas are limitless! I’ll show you just a couple ideas that we love and hopefully will provide some inspiration for you! Let’s go!

Always Offering Something New

My teenage daughter got some good advice from Duff Goldman a few years ago and it has always stayed with us. He said you always need to be offering something new, keeping it exciting and keeping your customers anxious for what’s next. And honestly, I think this is sometimes a downfall of custom cookie bakeries. Hear me out, Besties! Cookiers work REALLY hard to grow their skills and offer amazing baked art. I get it and that’s amazing! But by doing so, you can leave a large segment of your customer base behind. You very well have customers who LOVE your cookies but don’t have the need for fancy decorated cookies.

Just like car dealerships offer a variety of models at different price points, you should also make sure you are catering to all of your customers. And this is a great way to do that! Because these are quick, easy and simple to make, they take a fraction of your time, which is your biggest expense. I encourage you to think about how you can ensure you’re not icing out a segment of your customers!

And for the besties that do markets and pop-up events, these are PERFECT for those!!

Presentation is Everything!

While obviously you have to have a delicious product, the presentation of your goods makes a world of difference! For our custom cookies, we almost always individually heat seal our cookies using THIS sealer and THESE bags. We LOVE these bags because they don’t stick to the icing like so many others do! And you’ll notice they are self-sealing, which we usually just cut off with pinking shears after heat sealing, but it’s nice to have the self-sealing option in a pinch too!

But today, we’re using THESE adorable resealable cookie bags which are so fun! These bags are 9.5″ tall and 6.5″ wide so they hold a lot of cookies! And they have gusseted bottoms, so they stand up on their own, which makes them so wonderful for events! Our favorite way to use these is with smaller cookies so customers can get a good quantity of cookies in each bag. In this example, there are 15 two-inch lemon cookies in this bag. But you can create any fun design you like, and you could fit even more!

Here is another example that we call our confetti cookies. Simple 1.5″ circles, in a variety or theme of colors! There are 18 cookies in this bag!

The Million Dollar Question

I know what you’re going to ask, “What do you charge for these cookies?” I have such an aversion to offering pricing guidance since there are SO many variables that go into setting your pricing. But I will say most cookiers will offer a bag of cookies like this for between $20-$30 depending on your market, clientele, number of cookies.

Your bakery’s pricing shouldn’t be a guessing game either, which is why THIS guide goes much more in-depth on how to dial in your pricing. Only you can determine your pricing given your time, overhead and all the other variables covered in this guide.

Resealable Bags for the Win!

I hope this post utilizing THESE adorable resealable cookie bags has inspired you to offer these options in your bakery! Or if you’re a hobby baker, they are perfect for family and friends! They make for a very affordable and convenient option for customers to enjoy your treats!

Not sure if your baking soda is still good? Add a teaspoon of baking soda to 1/2 cup hot water. If it bubbles, it's still good!
