And, have learned how lucrative these babies can be! Which is why I’m thrilled to be sharing our latest free designs you can use for your bakery! Learn exactly how to use these, how we print them, market them and get some cookie design inspiration too! Wedding season is upon us so let’s jump right in!
Tell me more about cookie cards!
Happy to, Bestie! A cookie card is like a greeting card but with a cookie attached! So instead of spending $5 (or more) on a greeting card at the store, these fun designs come with a cookie attached! Any kind of cookie or even cake pops work perfectly with these cards. And both givers and receivers LOVE them! I mean who doesn’t want to receive a cute card with a custom cookie?! A sweet greeting and a thoughtful gift rolled into one! And these make perfect favors for events!
And for the bakery biz besties, cookie cards can be a sweet, little gold mine! Most cookiers sell their cookie cards for between $4-$8, depending on the size, skill level, design and your market. There are besties that sell hundreds of these for every holiday and event! It’s yet another great way to set yourself apart from what others are offering. I talk more about how to promote the cookie card business offering in THIS post if that’s something that you’d like to explore.
But today, we’re dialing in on using these for weddings! Everyone knows that couples want the most unique details for their wedding AND they are willing to pay for it! And if you’re a bakery biz bestie, you’re looking to offer the best options and lock in those big orders! And what’s the best way to do that? Set YOUR offerings apart from the rest!
For the Love of wedding cookie cards
If you are a bakery biz bestie, breaking into the wedding circuit can be just the ticket you need to make your business explode. Wedding budgets are big, and these events happen year-round, so there is no shortage of demand. And while all the other cookiers in your area are focused on local family events and orders, weddings are a whole different level. Not only can one wedding event be a huge win for you, but those cookies will be in the hands (and tummies) of ALL those wedding guests. Do you see where I’m going with this? The marketing opportunity is off the charts! Let’s not forget that there are usually a fair number of wedding guests who are planning or getting ideas for their own weddings. So, it’s worth your time to put your best foot (cookie) forward to show everyone why they need to hire YOU for their next event!
It’s for these reasons, why you should also make sure every cookie or cookie card has YOUR label on it, preferably with a QR code to your website or socials! This can be done tastefully, not in a tacky self-promoting way. Most states require your products to be individually labeled with your ingredients and allergens anyway. So, including a small QR code with your business name is still tasteful. But always run it by the bride to make sure they are okay with what you’re creating for their big day!
All About Cookie Cards
Answering all your cookie card frequently asked questions!
Cookie Card printing
- Where do you print your cookie cards? We print our cookie cards at home! But some choose to have them printed off at stores like Staples or any local printer. We use a regular printer, which you can find HERE, and utilize their Instant Ink program. You’ll never find me doing a frantic late-night run to the store for ink or shelling out big bucks for those cartridges.
- What kind of paper do you use for your cookie cards? We print on card stock (110 weight) so the cards are sturdier. THIS is the actual paper we use. However, for an event like a wedding, you may want to consider a shimmery cardstock or something a little fancier. THIS, which is shimmery on both sides would be perfect for these wedding cards.
- How do you cut your cookie cards? We use a paper cutter like THIS! Super handy, quick and easy!
Cookie Card packaging
- How do you attach your cookies to the cards? We always individually heat seal our cookies (or you can use a self-sealing bag). Then they get attached to the card using double-sided tape or glue dots. This way, you don’t have to fuss with food safe paper and ink. Bestie, make it easier for yourself!
- What size cookie cards are best? I created these wedding cookie cards in both 4×6″ and 3.5×5″ sizes for you. We use full-size cookies with our cards (not minis). It’s always smart to print the card design you plan to use and make sure your cookie size works well with it. But remember, these aren’t going into an envelope, so if you’re cookie is slightly larger than the card, that’s okay! It’s more about the cookie than the card!

Hi Jill! Thanks so much! I actually filmed a reel today showing how to make that cookie, due to so many requests! If you don’t already, you should follow my FB page and private group! You’ll see how this was made! It’s a combination of puffy consistency icing and a projector!
