Before we dig in, if you’re looking for a great royal icing recipe, you can find out go-to recipe HERE. And if you’re still learning about royal icing consistencies, THIS post will be very helpful.
With wet on wet, you’re using your flood consistency for all the decorating while it’s still wet, hence the name. So, one word of advice is to have your plan of what design you will be doing since you will get right to work once you flood, before the icing starts to crust. That said, I did include one example where you want to let the icing crust before flooding an adjacent section.
I’ve put together some step-by-step photo tutorials for you, but I also encourage you to try your own designs. Sometimes your find your favorite new design when you’re just playing!
