No-Chill Cutout Cookie Recipe
Before we get to the glowing, we need a delicious cookie canvas! I used our popular Funfetti cutout cookie recipe for this set. It’s a favorite among all of our customers and fellow cookiers, but it’s always a big hit with kids! Sometimes I include sprinkles in this recipe but opted not to for this set. No chilling required makes these super quick and simple to make with such an incredible flavor!! Many cookiers have started using this recipe for all of their cookies, it’s that good! So if you haven’t tried it, I’d highly recommend giving it a whirl!
Our Favorite Royal icing Recipe
If you already have a royal icing recipe you love, I love that for you! But if you do need a fabulous royal icing recipe, you can find exactly how we make our royal icing HERE. It’s very simple, with only a few key steps and gives us beautiful results and flavor every time!
Cookie Cutters
I used three different, adorable Halloween cookie cutters for this set, all from Bobbi’s Cutters. Her shop is one of our faves and is one of the most popular in the cookie community! Plus, she includes the cutter name ON the cutter!! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that thoughtful feature. There are the three cutters designs I used, and you can click on each link for more information about these.
Frankenstein, Bubbling Halloween Cauldron and the Moon with Bat.
And the best part is that Bobbi is honoring a 10% discount for your entire order when you use promo code BESTIE10! Thanks for being such a valued member of the cookie community, Bobbi!
Royal Icing The Glows?
So fun, right?! Now let’s be clear, the icing does not just glow in the dark; But it does glow brightly under blacklight! And with so many Halloween celebrations that utilize blacklights as part of their decor, it really is the perfect opportunity for these cookies to GLOW!
I started using these glow icing colors earlier this summer and created both marble dipped and galaxy cookies and shared the in THIS blog post! They turned out so amazing and my Halloween ideas started spinning!
The glow colors we use, love and recommend are THESE! It’s as simple as mixing a little bit of the powder into your white royal icing to make the shade you want! Decorate as usual from there and enjoy the GLOW under blacklight!
