Recipes
4th of July cookies have to bring the fun! No offense vanilla, but we’re pulling out the big guns to celebrate! For this set, I used our latest, most ridiculously flavored funfetti cutout cookie recipe, you can find HERE. As if the flavor isn’t fun enough, you can also choose to include red, white and blue sprinkles for an added surprise. There is no need to overcomplicate cutout cookies or waste tons of precious time! These is no chilling, resting or waiting involved and they perfectly hold their shape. Which means you have delicious, and perfectly shaped cookies in under 30 minutes. BAM! Enjoy plain or decorated, they do not disappoint!
If you do choose to decorate, it’s super simple to whip up a fresh batch of royal icing! We break down exactly how to successfully make royal icing to complement your cookie’s flavor and give you beautiful results every time. It’s all HERE for you to make it easy!
Cutters & Colors
Don’t you LOVE when you can create a whole cookie set with 2 cutters?! YAAAAS! This whole set only required 2 cutters which makes baking even quicker! And besties, I use the same one gnome cookie cutter, decorated many different ways for every holiday and occasion! It’s paid for itself about 1000 times over!
Gnome cookie cutter: My trusty, little buddy! Hint: I flip some of the cookies to decorate both sides for more variety!
Fireworks cutter: Surprise! It’s actually a spider web cutter! I use this baby year-round for all kinds of designs!
These 4th of July cookies were decorated with ChefMaster colors. Super Red and Royal Blue…simple as that. I will say, if I ever need more color in a pinch, Hobby Lobby’s brand is my back-up. Both ChefMaster and HL brand offer stunning colors at a great price. In my opinion, there is no reason to spend more as you can get everything you need at a great price point.
- QUALITY YOU CAN SEE: Our high quality liqua-gel food colorings are true-to-shade and add vibrant, fade-resistant color to your desserts without altering the taste, texture or consistency of the final product.

Designs
When it comes to decorating, these gnomes are really not difficult! All cookie decorating comes down to your icing consistencies. I use about a 15-20 second consistency to outline and flood each section of the gnomes, letting each section crust before adding an adjacent section. I pop them into the dehydrator in between each step to speed up the process, lock in the puffy icing and get the perfect finish. Don’t forget to use your scribe to pull and perfect your designs as you decorate. Your scribe truly is your bestie.
For the fireworks cookies, all it takes is a simple flood, and immediately adding alternating color rings from the center to the edge. The use your scribe (wiping in between each line) to drag the colors through, to create the design! And you guessed it…into the dehydrator they go for a nice sheen finish!
The BOOM cookies were simply flooded and then once crusted, I used my projector to add the lettering. This font can be found HERE on Dafont. I love this font because it reminds of super heros. And for this type of font, I use a consistency that resembles a “DQ curl” when you lift it with a spoon in the bowl. Stiff enough to hold a shape, but loose enough to smooth out.

Cookie Butt Cheeks?
Did I actually create gnome butt cheeks? Yes. Yes, I did. I’ve got no shame in my game! And if you want to know the secret, it’s very simple! Pipe the little butt cheek lines with a medium consistency icing and then let crust. Then, go back and flood the whole area, carefully flooding up to and around the butt cheek lines. Use your scribe to perfect them, if needed. Not gonna lie, I never thought I’d be writing about butt cheeks, but here we are!
I hope this set of 4th of July cookies has inspired you to get baking! Whether it’s for family, friends or customers, these 4th of July cookies or any of your own designs and treats are sure to being joy and smiles!
