Designing Snapchat Cookies
Alright, so we all know that young people have created a whole new language speaking in acronyms. I’ve kind of given up on trying to keep up because I know it’s a losing battle. But the funnier part of all of this is the actual photos they send to each other! So, it was both of these things that inspired me to cookie-fy this new world we live in!
For example, you’d think these young people would send each other cute, flattering pics. Oh no, this is not Instagram. Snap photos are RARELY any kind of decent photo. I have found that the vast majority of photos are of walls and foreheads. Yep, you read that right. Let me paint you a picture. You connect with someone new on Snap…they will commonly send you a pic of a random wall. To which you will respond with a picture of your wall. Or, perhaps your forehead in a dark room. And if they are really bold, they may send a pic of a sliver of their face. This can go on and on for DAYS. They see nothing weird about this, in fact, sending a “normal” picture of themselves would be weird.
Besties, I don’t get it. And I’m not going to try to get it because I know I won’t be sending pics like this to my mom friends. So instead, we’re going to embrace this bizarre new way of life with these fun Snapchat cookies! And if these acronyms are new to you, you’re not alone! WYD: What you doing? And WYLL: What you look like?

Puffy Royal Icing
When it came to actually decorating these Snapchat cookies, I used my go-to puffy royal icing consistency and technique to create these beautiful letters. That tutorial will guide you through, and show you in a demo video, exactly how we’re able to create beautiful puffy lettering like this.

Photo Cookies
If you’re interested in learning more about how we make our photo cookies, THIS post breaks down the printer, ink and icing sheets we use. We LOVE our edible image printer and how easy and affordable it is to include photos in our cookies designs.

I hope you enjoyed these Snapchat cookies and maybe even learned something about how young people communicate nowadays! My teens will be shuttering at how un-hip I am, but I’m going to sit back with a delicious cookie while they send each other wall pics! 😆
