I can’t believe back to school is already here! Many kids are actually already back, but here in Minnesota, we’ve got a couple weeks left. It’s the perfect time to share some back to school cookies to encourage kids and also recognize teachers! These designs are beginner friendly, and there are endless design options for the coffee cups, “teacher fuel”. Let’s dive right in to these fun and simple designs that are sure to start everyone off on the right foot!
Back To School Notebook Design
My daughter, who is the cottage business owner in our house, is offering these two custom cookies options! The first are these custom notebook cookies, accompanied with a mini edible marker. Parents LOVE being able to write their kiddo a custom first day of school message on a cookie!
In THIS post, we detailed the easiest way to achieve these notebook cookies. But all you need is to bake rectangle shaped cookies, as big or as small as you’d like. THIS cutter set makes it really easy. Then simply flood white and let completely dry overnight. THIS is our go-to royal icing recipe which we LOVE. Then, using a ruler, along with blue and pink edible markers from THIS set, you’ll draw your notebook lines. Package with an edible mini marker (THESE are my fave), and parents LOVE this thoughtful gift.
Back To School Teacher Fuel Cookies
These adorable coffee cup cookies were so fun and easy to make! We used THIS cutter to make these special treats. We chose to use a simple white and yellow color palette to bring some cheer to the new school year! Simply outline and flood non-neighboring sections and let crust over. IN the yellow sections, we simply added white polka dots while the yellow flood was wet (wet on wet technique). Once the first sections are crusted over, go back and flood the neighboring sections.
For the “Teacher Fuel” font, we used our projector and the “Hug Me Tight” font HERE. But honestly, with this design, you could easily freehand or use a childlike or whimsical style.
Options
Whether you make these for your kids, kids and teachers you know or offer them to your customers, there are several options. You could offer these as a set so a child gets a cookie, and they can gift one to their teacher. Or you can offer these individually for parents who may want several for kids or to give several to teachers. We’ve also had school administrators purchase many of the Teacher Fuel cookies for their staff. So, I encourage you to think about what may works best for you and your community.
Regardless of how you give or market these, they are sure to bring a smile and a boost of encouragement as we dive into the new year! Bring on the learning and happy baking, Besties!
